Spooky Haunted House Part Two

It's the black and white version.  My boys in the class went bonkers today for the color version.  Funny how holiday stuff makes kids so excited.  I also remade the recording sheet to add in another space so there are 25 words to record now.  It's not pretty, but at least they are all there. We have one more day with kids before Spring Break, and then it's a teacher work day to work on our report cards.  I guess I'll have to stop this fun stuff for a while so I can complete them.  Don't worry though, I've got a ton of idea's and I'll get back to them as fast as I can!

Spooky Haunted House

Here's a sight word find that's in color.  I also have one in the works that is a black and white version of this one.  I know there are many that can not print these out in color, so I'm trying to meet several different level of needs.  I do take requests, so feel free to ask for something you don't see or the words to be different.  Now, time for me to go to bed!

Snowmen On Parade

Here's another.  I'm now working on holiday themes until my cd comes from d.j.inkers.  Halloween is next!

Growing Feet!

Here's another growing pattern.  I made this one as a work sheet.  It's a simple counting by 2's pattern, but I've made it so the kids can discover this and then write about it. Hope your kids enjoy.

Here's some more sight word finds.

Here's a couple of more sight word finds.  My team mate Anna Can Teach made one and I made the other.  Thanks Anna :) I've had a ton of comments and I'm going to try to respond here to a couple of things asked of me.  I've been asked to make some with bug and space themes.  They are in the works!  The c.d. I got from d.j.inkers wasn't very compatible with my computer  but the people over there were so helpful and kind.  I have a new c.d. coming and then I will be able to work on a better copy for everyone.  I had another poster asked me if there are 25 sight words in each picture because there are only 24 words on the recording sheet.  YES, there are 25 words in each picture, I just couldn't fit 25 spaces on the sheet.  I realized that if I take the date off, I can fit one more in, so an new revised sheet will be coming soon for anyone that wants it.  Thanks once again for all of your kind words of support.  I hope your kids enjoy these new ones.  By the way, I got my magnifying glasses from Target.  YHEA!!!!!

Two More Sight Word Finds!

I made another sight word find, this time it's a farm scene and it's in color.  One of my team mates also made one and said I could share it with you all.  It is so stinking cute!  If you all are on Pro Teacher you may know her as Anna Can Teach.  She shares all of her hard work on that site a lot.  So, thanks Anna for your adorable Fairy Land Picture. Thanks for all of your kind comments.  I'm glad you like these.  I'm off to Target, hope there's magnifying glasses left!

Sight Word Find

This posting is going to be an experiment.  I need you all to let me know if you think this is something your kids will like and if so, I'm prepared to make more of these.  I made the picture from d.j.inkers clip art and for the first one I decided to use the black and white option.  I showed it to my kids today and told them it could be one of their word work or work on writing choices during Daily 5.  Unfortunately, we never got to it today, so I don't know how long it would take but they seemed excited about it.  What I did was make a picture and then I hid sight words in it. I copied this idea from a wonderful blog Kdoublestuffed(we work in the same building, so I got her permission to steal her idea!).  Check out her blog, it is amazing and she posts way more often than I do.  Anyway, if you have little magnifying glasses, the kids can use them to "find" the words.  I was told that Target dollar spot had cute ones on sale this week.  I need to go and check it out myself.  Let me know if you like these and I will gladly make more.

Addition and Subtraction Eggs

I made this for my kids to continue having practice with basic addition and subtraction.  I tried to make some of the equations doubles or doubles plus/minus 1.
It was another pretty day here and I got to work in my garden.  It's been neglected for 2 years as I was mending broken bones last Spring and never got to it.  It's slow going but it feels soooooo good to be doing it again.  Hope you all have a great week and that you have pretty days where you are.  Thank you all for the positive, kind words you are leaving me.  I really appreciate it!

Another Growing Pattern: Bunnies and Magic Wand

I made another one and it's just like the first one.  I changed the second mat to 9th and 11th position and used a magic wand and bunnies for the elements.  Same idea, different graphics.

Growing Patterns

It's a very beautiful day here in Virginia, it's sunny and about 70 degrees.  It makes me want Spring sooooo badly.  The weather inspired me to make this Growing Patterns work mat.  My students are able to make regular patterns and are whizzes in coming up with all kinds of patterns (thank you Kindergarten Teachers), but we are having trouble in my room with the concept of growing patterns.  I'm starting out very simple on the concept level and hope to move more abstract (using numbers) with my kids that can handle it later.  This is my first attempt.  Let me know if this interests you and if I get people that say they like it and will use it, I'll make more.  I've got LOTS of ideas in my head and love to do this.  So, leave me feedback please.... I love feedback!  That said, thank you everyone that has said such kind things and have enjoyed what I have made. It puts a smile on my face:)

Fast Phrases Re-Design

Well, when I make these games, it's usually on the weekend and I post before I have my kids play them in school.  I found a HUGE flaw in my fast phrases.  I tried to use little eggs and the phrases were on them more in a list form than as a "phrase".  I re-made them and they are posted below.  I'm so sorry if anyone made the others (I did and they are o.k.) but these new ones are much better.

Egg Basket Tens and Ones

It is an incredibly rainy day here, so I'm happily sitting on my couch with my cat beside me making games.  It beats cleaning my house which is what I really should be doing.  Anyway, here's another tens and ones game with a recording sheet.  My next game will be posted soon.  Enjoy, hope you are all having a happy Sunday.

Ducky Tens and Ones

Here's another tens and ones game.  It was too hard to get 90 ten rods on one egg so you will need to make sure you make 2 sets and then teach the kids that they have to use two eggs for any numbers over 50 (well, actually 3 when you count the ones eggs).  I hope this makes sense!  Let me know if it doesn't.

Collect the Eggs: Fast Phrases

In my district, 1st grade children need to know a certain number of sight by the end of the school year.  I'm finding that my children know the words in isolation, but are having difficulty applying them to their reading.  I've been using the Fast Phrases program to help the children see the words as more than one word at a time and to build fluency.  I decided to make this game to help make it more fun.  I hope you will be able to use this!
